Sigmetrix Appoints James Stoddard as President

MCKINNEY, Texas – June 18, 2018 – Sigmetrix, global experts in GD&T and mechanical variation, today announced James Stoddard has been named President, effective immediately.

Sigmetrix had its origin within the Defense Systems Engineering Group (DSEG) at Texas Instruments (TI) as part of the producibilityjames-stoddard-sm organization. Through membership in ADCATS (Association for Development of Computer Automated Tolerance Systems) TI partnered with the Mechanical Engineering Department at Brigham Young University to develop a tolerance analysis software package that would be accurate enough to manage the precision needed for military optical systems. Raytheon acquired the group in 1997 as part of the DSEG acquisition, and then in 1999 Sigmetrix became its own independent company. Stoddard has been with what would become Sigmetrix from the very beginning.

Stoddard has played an instrumental role in the creation and development of CETOL 6σ Technologies, advanced constraint systems, architecture and CAD integrations developed over 25 years of professional research going back to his work at Brigham Young University working with Dr. Ken Chase, founder of ADCATS. He is also recognized by the top CAD and PLM companies and universities as the leading expert in advanced constraint technologies setting the benchmark for precise solutions necessary for addressing the next generation needs of tolerance optimization systems.

“James is well-positioned to help execute Sigmetrix’ strategic priorities and drive sustainable growth,” said Sigmetrix outgoing President, Chris Wilkes. “With the release of our latest products earlier this year, including CETOL 6σ, EZtol and GD&T Advisor, Sigmetrix has a massive opportunity to realize its mission of managing dimensional variations in many organizations and being a key player in the move towards Model-Based Definition and Model-Based Enterprise. With James’ vast experience in the industry and our product offerings I believe Sigmetrix will continue its double-digit growth and produce new cutting-edge products and services,” stated outgoing-President, Chris Wilkes.

Concurrent to Stoddard’s appointment, Chris Wilkes, President of Sigmetrix, will retire from his role to pursue new opportunities. Wilkes will stay on with Sigmetrix as an Executive Advisor through the end of 2018 to ensure a smooth transition and serve as an advisor on key strategic initiatives.
