PTC Creo GD&T Advisor Fundamentals Computer-Based Training Course (ASME)

This course utilizes a combination of lecture videos, software demonstrations, detailed exercises, and a written training manual to teach the fundamentals of PTC Creo GD&T Advisor. Upon completion of the course students will be able to apply semantic GD&T annotations to their part files consistent with the applicable ASME and ISO standards. Such information comprises a significant part of Model-Based Definition (MBD) and serves as the foundation for the Model-Based Enterprise (MBE). The coursework is broken into tasks which students complete at their own pace.
Topics include:
- An overview of the interface and workflow followed by more in-depth explanations and exercises on the tools provided
- Managing notes
- Working with multi-elements holes and patterns
- How to define datum targets
- Additional considerations for drafted features
- Unique workflows supporting more advanced definitions such as common datums (i.e. A-B) and self-referencing datum features
Learn the fundamentals of PTC Creo GD&T Advisor at your own pace. This computer-based course allows students to complete the same curriculum as our instructor-led course but at a schedule that can be balanced with other work demands. The course consists of
- 11 units ranging describing all aspects of the tool including some more advanced applications of GD&T.
- Two delivery options are available - browser-based portal when connected and mobile app for iOS and Android allowing users to save courses and take them offline.
- Exercises with detailed instructions let the user apply the concepts just presented to “learn by doing.”
- Training manual in ebook format
Target Audience
Anyone who is involved in the definition of GD&T annotations, also called Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) or Model-Based Definition (MBD), on their PTC Creo models.
Duration
2 ½ hours of lecture + 7 guided exercises.
Prerequisites/Restrictions
Required skills:
- Basic understanding of GD&T – this course does NOT teach the language of GD&T
Other:
- Access to the computer-based class is limited to 3 months.
- Students will need to have access to PTC Creo Parametric as well as the PTC Creo GD&T Advisor application within Creo to complete the exercises
