Sigmetrix Announces CETOL 6σ v12.4, Delivering Enhanced Virtual Fastener Capabilities, Reporting Improvements, and Greater Productivity

Users can get a first look at the new release during a live webinar on November 5 hosted by Sigmetrix product experts

MCKINNEY, Texas, November 4, 2026 – Sigmetrix, a leading provider of mechanical variation management and tolerance analysis solutions, today announced the upcoming release of CETOL 6σ v12.4, available November 19, 2026. The latest version introduces enhancements designed to help engineering teams reduce modeling effort, improve fit validation, and streamline the analysis and reporting of complex assemblies.

CETOL 6σ is a 3D model-based tolerance analysis software that integrates directly into leading CAD platforms to help engineers predict, visualize, and resolve variation issues before they reach production. By identifying how part and assembly variation impacts product performance, CETOL enables faster decisions, reduced rework, and improved profitability.

Building on the virtual fastener capabilities introduced in CETOL 6σ v12.2, version 12.4 enables users to define a single joint between patterns of features using one virtual fastener specification for all members. This enhancement significantly reduces setup time and model complexity for assemblies containing repeated fastening conditions.

CETOL 6σ v12.4 also expands Fit Check functionality by considering not only feature size, but also location and orientation tolerances. In addition, users can automatically assign position tolerances that achieve worst-case fit directly from within the Fit Check dialog, helping teams evaluate assembly requirements more efficiently.

Several customer-requested usability improvements are included in the release. Users can now group or ungroup Sensitivities and Contributions for the same dimension across multiple instances of a part, making it easier to analyze and communicate variation results in large assemblies. Profile tolerances can also be applied to width features of size, allowing engineers to simultaneously control size, location, and orientation with a single specification.

To further improve productivity, CETOL 6σ v12.4 allows multiple joints to be cloned together within Assembly States, eliminating the need to clone joints individually and reducing repetitive setup tasks.

The release also delivers expanded reporting capabilities, including fit assessments for calculated virtual fasteners, visibility of unaddressed Advisor Messages, calculated measurement limits based on specified quality levels, reporting of part-level temperature differences, improved result plots, and a restructured measurement data layout for greater readability. Users can also choose to exclude part-specific details when generating reports.

"Our focus with CETOL 6σ v12.4 was to address practical challenges faced by engineering teams every day," said Stephen Werst, Director of Customer Success & Product Strategy at Sigmetrix. "From simplifying virtual fastener definitions to enhancing reporting and fit validation, these improvements help users analyze assemblies more efficiently while gaining deeper insight into manufacturing and assembly variation."
