Optimus Process Integration and Design Optimization Software

Optimus is a Process Integration and Design Optimization software, which bundles a collection of design exploration and numerical optimization methods.

“The Optimus platform provides users of our CETOL 6σ with the opportunity to fully integrate 3rd party analysis tools within an optimization scenario, fulfilling the need for even greater tolerance optimization. We look forward to approaching both our new and existing customers with this solution, and to demonstrating how it will enable them to select the most optimal and robust options for their designs.”

OPTIMUS process integration software

Optimus offers a complete Graphical User Interface and supports the latest operating system. The Optimus graphical User Interface is a single main window that contains the menu bar, the toolbars, the workflow editor and the workspace tree. It offers all of the functions necessary for you to capture and federate a simulation process, as well as initiate and monitor all the calculation methods available. The GUI is easy to learn and easy to use with toolbars and complete visualization of processes and methods. A complete visualization of the process is available, including all relevant data, connectivity of the process, simulation programs involved, as well as all input and output parameters.

The workflow engine captures the simulation workflows to automate their numerical simulation process. These simulation workflows integrate one or more simulation codes and are executed by Optimus without any user intervention. A complete visualization of the process is available, including all relevant data, connectivity of the process, simulation programs involved an all input and output definitions. Optimus offers a very rich workflow execution mechanism from a step-by-step review to the deployment on a large computation cluster. The workflow engine determines all the dependencies and automatically defines the resulting workflow and engineering model dependencies in order to start execution. A workflow results in a set of tasks to be executed interactively or in batch.

Once the simulation process is captured in an Optimus workflow, you are able to explore the design space by modifying selected input parameters and hunt for new designs that are more reliable with better functional performance. All calculations are based on the integrated simulation tools that are part of the Optimus workflows. The design optimization methods available in Optimus allow the following:

  • Design space exploration, such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Response Surface Modeling (RSM)
  • Numerical optimization, based on gradient-based local algorithms or genetic global algorithms, both for single or multiple objectives with continuous and/or discrete design variables
  • Robustness and reliability engineering, including methods to assess and optimize the variability of design outputs based on variable design inputs.
