This workshop takes place the day after the MBE & QIF Summit (April 14-16, 2026 MBE & QIF Summit - DMSC) at the MxD Innovation Center – Connect Center Meeting Space, 1415 N. Cherry Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60642.

                Sigmetrix will be hosting a half-day workshop on Model-Based Definition (MBD). The objective is to equip engineering, manufacturing, and quality professionals with knowledge and tools (CETOL 6σ, EZtol, VariSight, GD&T Advisor) to overcome MBD implementation challenges, integrate variation management into digital threads, and leverage OCM for successful adoption, aligning with DoDI 5000.97 and EU MBD initiatives.

                Speakers including Ed Walsh, President of Sigmetrix, Stephen Werst, Director of Customer Success, and Tom Gill Principal Consultant from CIMdata, the Leading PLM Analyst & Consulting firm will speak and participate in the workshop. The 3-hour agenda will consist of the following items:

                Technical Session

                • What is a digital thread & why is it important
                • How does variation management fit in the digital thread and what benefits does it bring?
                • VariSight Demo

                Workshop

                • Divide into 3 groups of 5 people each, Sigmetrix and CIMdata will facilitate
                • Each group will identify their top MBD implementation issues and suggested remedies
                • Each group will then share their results with the full group
